Aldona passed away peacefully at age 92, on November 26, 2018 in Seattle, Washington with family by her side. She was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, only daughter to Ona and Jonas Valaitis, moved to Brooklyn, NY at a young age. After completing her studies at LIU, she taught there for a short period until marrying Albin Treciokas and moving to the Washington, DC area. Al had gotten a job with a new government agency, the CIA. Aldona worked there as well as a Lithuanian language translator until she was asked to leave because she was very obviously pregnant! Shortly after first daughter Ona was born, Al got an assignment to Frankfurt, Germany where the family moved and grew from 3 to 6 where Eva, Aldona D., and Ralph were all born. The family moved between Germany and Virginia several more times until eventually settling in Fairfax, Virginia. Aldona was an artist, gardener, hostess, chef, as well as mother. She was an elegant woman who knew much about many things. She is survived by daughters, Ona Treciokas (Randy Noteboom), Eva McElroy (David McElroy), Aldona D. Treciokas, grandsons Colin and Adrian Noteboom, and Cameron Treciokas. She is predeceased by husband Albin and son Ralph Treciokas. Celebration of life will be Sunday December 16, 2018, 1:00 PM at Aljoya Thorton Place, Seattle, Washington.
